Join MarketiXpert as a Senior Web Developer building production websites for clients in Canada, the US, and the UK. Remote-first, full-stack (Next.js, WordPress, Shopify), with competitive pay and clear growth path.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end web development for client projects across Next.js, WordPress, and Shopify.
- Architect scalable, maintainable codebases and review pull requests from team members.
- Translate Figma designs into pixel-accurate, accessible, performant production code.
- Implement Core Web Vitals optimization (LCP < 2.5s, INP < 200ms, CLS < 0.1) on every build.
- Build and integrate REST and GraphQL APIs; integrate third-party services (Stripe, HubSpot, Salesforce, etc.).
- Implement Schema.org structured data and on-page SEO requirements alongside the SEO team.
- Conduct accessibility audits (WCAG 2.2 AA) and remediate findings before launch.
- Plan and execute migrations, replatform projects, and major redesigns without losing client SEO.
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to internal engineering standards.
- Participate in client discovery calls and provide technical scoping input.
Requirements
- 5+ years professional web development experience with at least one production launch in the past 12 months.
- Expert-level JavaScript / TypeScript and strong React + Next.js (App Router) experience.
- Production WordPress experience: custom themes, ACF / Gutenberg blocks, REST API, headless setups.
- Working knowledge of Shopify (Liquid, theme customization) or WooCommerce.
- Strong Git workflow, CI/CD experience (Vercel, Netlify, GitHub Actions).
- Familiarity with Schema.org, Core Web Vitals, and modern SEO requirements.
- Excellent written English; comfortable on video calls with North American and UK clients.
- Available for 4+ hours of overlap with EST business hours (or BST for UK-focused work).
- Nice to have: Headless CMS experience (Sanity, Strapi, Contentful), Tailwind CSS, Framer Motion.
About the Role
MarketiXpert is a Brampton-based digital agency serving clients across Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom. We're looking for a Senior Web Developer to lead production builds — from marketing sites and Shopify storefronts to custom Next.js applications and complex platform migrations.
This is a hands-on role. You'll write production code daily, mentor mid-level developers, lead technical scoping with clients, and own the quality of what we ship. You'll work directly with our design, SEO, and account teams — there are no middle layers between you and the work.
What You'll Work On
A typical month includes:
- 1–2 new client builds (mix of Next.js marketing sites, WordPress, and Shopify)
- 1 client redesign or platform migration
- Ongoing maintenance and feature work for 3–5 retainer clients
- Code reviews for junior and mid-level developers
- 1–2 internal projects (tooling, design system, internal SEO products)
Why Join Us?
- Real ownership. You drive technical decisions — not a project manager who hasn't coded since 2018.
- No agency overhead culture. No timesheet theatre. No "billable hour" pressure. Output and quality matter.
- Direct client exposure. You'll be on discovery calls and architecture decisions, not buried behind layers of account management.
- Modern stack. We pick the right tool for each project. No legacy WordPress soup, no jQuery archeology.
- Growth path. Senior → Tech Lead → Engineering Manager is a real path here, with clear criteria.
Compensation
Competitive salary in CAD (or USD/GBP equivalent for international hires) based on experience. Includes:
- Performance-based annual bonus
- Paid time off + Canadian statutory holidays (or local equivalent)
- Health benefits (Canadian employees) or annual health stipend (international)
- Annual training and conference budget
- Home-office setup stipend
Application Process
- Resume + portfolio / GitHub review (1 week)
- Initial 30-minute culture and goals call
- Technical screen: 90-minute paired coding session on a realistic problem
- Codebase review interview: walk us through unfamiliar production code
- Final call with leadership + reference checks
- Offer
Total process: typically 2–3 weeks from application to offer.
We accept applications on a rolling basis. Apply via the form below.
